MILLER EMPLOYEES SHAVE HEADS TO RAISE $30,000 FOR CANCER CHARITY

APPLETON, Wis., June 7, 2002 -
Eight employees from Miller Electric Mfg. Co. had their heads shaved to raise money for Families of Children With Cancer, an organization that supports families affected by cancer in northeastern Wisconsin. Children who have benefited from the charity attended the event.

"In the last month, 18 employees from Miller have shaved their heads for pledges, totaling more than $30,000," said Mary Felton, Miller's director of human resources. "The shaved heads are a tribute to cancer patients who have lost their hair during cancer treatment."

This fundraising event is part of Miller's nine month "Employee Involvement" program, which promotes community service participation from all of the company's 1,400 employees.

"We work and live in this community, so we naturally want to support it," said Miller President Mike Weller. "It's fortunate that everyone can work together as a group to share their talents and time to raise money for area organizations."

Headquartered in Appleton, Wis., Miller is a leading worldwide manufacturer of arc welding equipment and related systems for metalworking, construction, maintenance and other applications.
