NEW 3045 FC FEEDER TURNS STICK WELDERS, ENGINE DRIVES INTO A WIRE WELDING SYSTEM FOR LESS THAN $750

- Faster and easier than Stick welding

- Limited-time package saves consumers over $300

APPLETON, Wis., Oct. 15, 2002 -
For those who want the productivity and simplicity of wire welding but don’t have a big budget, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. has introduced the 3045 FC wire feeder. This light industrial feeder with welding torch turns almost any power source into a wire welding system for under $750.00. It costs hundreds less than heavier-duty industrial feeders, weighs 29 lb. for easy carrying and welds material from 20 gauge to 3/8 in. thick (225 amp maximum output). The 3045 FC runs .023 to .035 in. solid and .30 to .045 in. flux cored diameter wires and holds an 8 in. wire spool or adapts for 4 in. spools.

Through January 31, 2003, the 3045 FC can be purchased as a package with the Bobcat™ 250 NT welding generator and 5 lb. of Hobart Fabshield 23 welding wire – a savings of more than $300 to consumers.

“The 3045 FC’s voltage sensing capability permits flux cored welding with constant current machines, such as the DC Stick welders and engine driven welding generators commonly used for light construction, farm, maintenance, repair and do-it-yourself applications,” said Dave Enneking, product manager, Miller Electric. “With the optional gas solenoid valve, it also permits MIG welding with constant voltage machines.”

The 3045 FC comes complete with a 10-ft., 250 amp MIG gun/cable, contact tips, a dual groove, V-knurled drive roll suitable for flux cored wires, a 13 ft. voltage sensing lead clip, 115 V power cord and a chart with initial suggested settings for different materials and thicknesses. Typical welding power sources paired with the 3045 FC include Miller’s Bobcat and Miller Legend engine drives and Stick welding units with DC output, as well as Hobart Welders’ Champion 10,000 engine drive.

The Faster, Easier Way to Weld

Enneking expects people who have traditionally welded with the Stick process to appreciate the ease of welding with flux cored wire and the 3045 FC.

“A lot of people use Stick welding because of its flexibility and lower initial investment. With its light weight and low cost, the 3045 FC fits their needs perfectly,” he says. Enneking notes that while small MIG machines also provide wire welding capabilities, they weigh two or three times more than the 3045 FC.

In addition to portability, “flux cored welding with the 3045 FC enables people to complete jobs much faster,” he states. “It’s a continuous process, where Stick welding is all stop and start. When you figure what your time is worth or what you pay an employee per hour, investing $750 in the 3045 FC makes good business sense.”

The 3045 FC is covered by Miller’s True Blue 3-year factory warranty. To download a 3045 FC spec sheet, visit Miller’s website at MillerWelds.com.
