MILLER’S NEW DELTA-FAB OFFERS SIMPLICITY, MOST COST-EFFECTIVE MIG SYSTEM WITH REMOTE CONTROL

- Power source and wire feeder sold as a package

- Remote voltage control allows for clutter-free work space

APPLETON, Wis., Dec. 1, 2002 -
Miller Electric Mfg. Co. has introduced the Delta-Fab MIG/flux cored welding system with remote WFS/voltage control. Sold complete with power source and 24A wire feeder, the Delta-Fab offers simplified operation and 375 amps of welding power at 100 percent duty-cycle (50 to 500 amps). This is the most cost-effective, easy-to-use option for fabricators, manufacturers and shipbuilders looking for remote voltage control.

The Delta-Fab produces 10 to 45 open circuit volts — more than any power source in its class — to combat voltage drops common when the power source is stationed away from the workspace. The added power allows for greater flexibility with large wire diameters that require more voltage. The Delta-Fab is ideal for .035-in. to .045-in. hard and stainless steel wires and 1/16-in. flux cored wires. The 24A’s four drive roll system provides greater positive feeding for wires .045 and larger.

The Delta-Fab provides fabrication and manufacturing operators the same durability as Miller’s Deltaweld Series, but with fewer knobs and controls.

“The main power source features nothing more than an on/off switch, high temperature shut down and standard analog meters,” said Jeff Hietpas, product manager, Miller Electric. “Voltage and wire speed controls are housed in the 24A wire feeder.”

Unlike MIG systems where voltage controls are located on the front of the power source or power sources without remote voltage control capabilities, the Delta-Fab permits fine tuning of the welding arc at the wire feeder. This clears the workspace of clutter and eliminates the need to return to the power source.

End users report the ability to stack power sources against the wall and place wire feeders underneath weld stations. This can create additional floor space per work cell, allowing weld stations to be located close to one another and improving parts flow and productivity.

The 24A wire feeder also includes trigger hold (no need to hold trigger for duration of weld), jog/purge (moves wire forward without turning on current) and run-in controls (improves arc starts by allowing more time for the arc to establish itself) as standard features. Miller’s 70 Series wire feeders with remote voltage control are also compatible with the Delta-Fab.

The Delta-Fab MIG welding system is covered by Miller’s True Blue three-year factory warranty. To download a Delta-Fab spec sheet, visit Miller's website at MillerWelds.com.
