NEW BIG BLUE TURBO WELDING GENERATOR FROM MILLER IDEAL FOR HIGH ALTITUDE, HIGH OUTPUT WELDING

- Features Deutz 2011 diesel engine that is MSHA compliant

- 750 amp output to gouge with 1/2-in. carbons

APPLETON, Wis., February 2003 -
For heavy construction, structural steel, railroad and mining maintenance and repair applications, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. has introduced its new Big Blue Turbo, the world's most powerful welder/generator.

"The Big Blue Turbo has a turbo-charged Deutz 2011 diesel engine that produces 65 HP at 1800 RPM," said John Luck, product manager, Miller Electric. "As a result, the Big Blue Turbo has 175 amps more total welding output, 1,000 watts more standard generator power, weighs 370 lb. less and is 29 percent smaller than competitive units. Further, the Big Blue Turbo works at altitudes greater than three miles (5,000 meters) without loss of output."

The standard Big Blue Turbo features 5,500 watts peak and 4,000 watts continuous generator power while welding. With the optional generator package, it offers 20,000 watts of three-phase or 12,000 watts of single-phase generator power when not welding.

The Big Blue Turbo creates a welding output of 45 to 750 amps (600 amps/44 volts at 60 percent duty cycle) for Stick welding and air carbon arc gouging with carbons up to 1/2-in. diameter. It has a DC TIG output of 20 to 450 amps; it can weld thin steel with more precision than competitive units and has a stable arc at all outputs. For flux cored and MIG welding, it provides excellent arc control throughout its 14 to 40 volt, 20 to 500 amp range (500 amps/40 volts at 100 percent duty cycle).

The machine is MSHA approved (Mine Safety Health Administration) for use in underground coal mines.

The Big Blue Turbo is covered by Miller's True Blue three-year factory warranty; the engine is covered separately by Deutz for three years.
